Harrisville City News

by Jim Mackley

City Council Approves Playground Revitalization Councilman Bruce Richins presented a proposal by Game Time to replace and re-vitalize the playground at the Harrisville City Park which is in need of repair. Since Game Time is providing a matching $47,000.00 “grant” for financial assistance, the City Council felt that now is a good opportunity to replace playground equipment with newer equipment of a different style. Also, the City Council discussed that the City has the money available to do it now. The Nov. 10 decision starts the process for construction this winter.

Public Comment Discouraged? Starting in November, Public Comment has been relegated to the next to last agenda item before Mayor/Council follow-up. That means that public comment comes after decisions have already been made.
