Over 130 Participants in Student Constitution Essay Contest

by John W. Reynolds, Correspondent/Reporter

March 12, 2010 Jim, thought you might like the latest developments. We are near the mid-point in the judging process. Winners should be selected by the end of March.

Our goal is to provide the broadest possible coverage of the students efforts as well as the subject of the contest - Freedom.

To that end we have arranged the following: Three State Legislators (Ryan Wilcox, Kerry Gibson and Gage Froerer) have agreed to provide letters of commendation for the students; State Senator Scott Jenkins will do the same as will U.S. Congressman Rob Bishop. At least three City Councils (Harrisville, North Ogden, and Pleasant View) will include student recognition at one of their April meetings. We expect other dignitaries to be part of recognizing the efforts of these students.

Thanks for your support.

John Reynolds

P.S. We received essays from most of the schools in the area, I will send you a breakdown as soon as I have it.

We just added Senator Hatch to the list of those who will provide letters of commendation to the top 15 (5 in each age group). He would also like to read the essays once we have it sorted out. By the way Hatch has a townhall meeting at Orion Jr. High on April 7th.
