Harrisville City Council March 9
Managing EditorHarrisville Sports Enthusiasts Volunteer to Help Community by the Managing Editor In a March 9th City Council Meeting, Harrisville residents volunteered to help the city with its sports program. This was welcome news to the city Parks Committee headed up by Councilman Crowther. The committee doubled in size with those who volunteered at the meeting. Tracy Buttars had spoken for five minutes during the Citizen Comment time about improving the Parks in Harrisville. He had suggested finding new funds through rental of fields, re-starting concession stands, and volunteering to help. When the Parks Committee Chairman mentioned a need for more committee members, the Mayor suggested Mr. Buttars be put to work on the Parks Committee. Mr. Buttars accepted the offer. Several others then immediately offered their services and were accepted as committee members. Harrisville Citizens, Jo Anderson, Merrill Harris, Jeff Richardson, and Kelly Daley had also spoken about the Harrisville parks.
