North Ogden- District 7 Caucus meets on March 23
Helen R.Taylor

Democracy in action to maintain our Republic of the State of Utah occurred on March 23rd, 2010, at the Weber High Caucus Meeting with the selection of 2 State and 4 County Republican Party Delegates.

Chair, Richard Owens, and Secretary, Karen Roylance, conducted the meeting in an orderly fashion for the approximately 30 attendees. Karen read the Republican Party Platform Statement to the group, and the endorsement letter for Terry Thompson as the next Weber County Sherriff, as written by current Sherriff Brad Slater.

Three candidates volunteered for the 2 State Delegate positions, George Parsons, Ann Holdaway and Richard Hall. All three took turns answering several questions from the audience concerning their views on term limits, fishing access rights, and limited government. Written ballots were cast, and George and Ann were selected by simple majority vote to attend the May 8th State Convention at the Salt Palace in SLC.

Four candidates volunteered for the 4 County Delegate positions, Trevor Petersen, Jen Petersen, George Parsons and this reporter. As there were 4 volunteers to fill 4 positions they were accepted by voice vote to attend the April 10th County Convention at the Browning Center on the WSU campus.
