Harrisville Officials take Oath of Office

by Managing Editor

Two incumbents and one newly elected official took the oath of office to “…support, obey and defend the Constitution of the United States…” at the swearing in ceremony on January 12th, 2010. Mayor Richard Hendrix, Councilman Bruce Richins, and Councilman elect Chad Allen began their service on that day, which also happened to be Mayor Richard Hendrix’s birthday. City recorder Jennifer Morrell was also appointed to continue her service.

Although little business was conducted and the meeting ended in less than an hour, those present seemed to enjoy a good feeling of community togetherness. The cake that Mayor Hendrix’s family provided was appreciated by the attendees as well.
