Consequences of Forced Healthcare
Should the unconstitutional (and therefore illegal) national health care plan not be properly stopped by courts, what we can expect is this...
Most insurance companies will start going out of business because they will be forced to cover already sick people. As these companies disappear, the only option left will be the government run program... and Obama will have his single-payer plan, as he has wanted all along (socialized medicine!).
With the only game in town national health insurance, the cost can be anything the government wants to charge (free market competitive forces will be totally gone). The USA is already so broke (with $110 trillion dollars in debt and unfunded obligations), and with the lack of efficiency inherent in federal run programs, the money to pay for all this "free" medical care will not be there, and we will see massive rationing (old people and those with permanent impairment, might as well just die, because they'll be at the bottom of the list).
When the program is not functioning properly, which it won't- guaranteed, taxes for everyone will have to be raised significantly. Doctors will be retiring early to avoid the mess and lower pay, further exacerbating the shortage of care, and we will see private hospitals also closing their doors, unable to be profitable.
So... insurance companies will cease to exist, causing even more socialization of our system, quality of care will go down, massive new national debt will be incurred, cost of care will increase dramatically, shortages are certain, more people will die from not being able to get treated... and this is supposed to be the solution!? Heaven help us!
