Over 100 Participants in Student Constitution Essay Contest

by John W. Reynolds, Correspondent/Reporter

Essay update: We've received the following - Elementary 111, Jr. High 10, Sr. High 8 essays with the possibility of a few more today (1 March post mark is the qualifier). I've had the opportunity to read many of the Elementary and some of the Sr. High and can tell you that there are some very good essays among the numbers. We haven't sorted out by school yet but will when a final count is reached. I'm confident that we will take pride in the winners when they emerge from the rigorous judging process. We hope that you will give the winning essays some exposure in the Sentinel News. Thanks for your support.

John Reynolds, North Ogden Kiwanis

Editor's note: The Sentinel News plans to publish some of these essays

Who Poses the Greater Threat?

Politicians love pitting us against the rich. All by themselves, the rich have absolutely no power over us. To rip us off, they need the might of Congress to rig the economic game. It's a slick political sleight-of-hand where politicians and their allies amongst the intellectuals, talking heads and the news media get us caught up in the politics of envy as part of their agenda for greater control over our lives.

DAVE SAYS - January 25, 2010

by Dave Ramsey

Dear Dave,

I want to buy a foreclosure. How do I go about it, and where do I look? I’m having a hard time making anything happen, because it seems like the real estate brokers are buying them up before I know they’re available or have a chance to look at them.
