Trump a Russian Spy?

Monday, January 14, 2019 - 10:45am

Well they don’t call him ‘President Goldfinger’ for nothing.  However, unlike the infamous 007 villain, Auric Goldfinger, who not only “loves only gold”,  who craves gold, is obsessed with gold ...looks and dresses in gold, has golden hair, and, ironically, is a dead ringer for our president ...our president probably isn’t smart enough or clever enough to be a “spy” in the true Ian Fleming or John le Carre sense of the term.

“Unwitting” is the term that comes to mind regarding The Donald and all this spy business as reported in the New York Times and voraciously seized upon by our broadcast media.  The report says that after Trump, aka “President Goldfinger‘, fired FBI Director, James Comey, he is suspected of possibly cooperating, to the point of even becoming an asset for Russia.  That means an agent.  The FBI is investigating this and it may become part of Special Council Robert Mueller’s investigation, already looking into Russian collusion between Trump and the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election.

I’m starting to lose faith in all the multiple, seemingly never-ending investigations going on.  It’s like investigating history.  After time erases all living memory of an event or episode and it’s forgotten, hidden, lied away, swept away in the 24 hr. news cycle, “history” is what’s left over and whoever writes it owns it.  Just think about the indigenous people, the Indians, who lived here in America before the “white man” came.  But I digress ...

In reality, and according to all accounts both fictional and historical (the two sometimes being the same), the craft of intelligence or “spycraft”, is defined by double and triple agents, double and triple-crosses, skilled artisans, superior intellect and perfect liars playing the deadly game of high stakes international espionage.  And that’s the easy part.  Somehow, I don‘t see our ‘President Goldfinger‘ even making the first cut.

But “unwitting” is certainly in the conversation.  He has been interested in Russia for many years, has made many trips there, for business, for beauty pageants ...he brought the Miss Universe Pageant to Moscow in 2013 ...he wanted to build a Trump Tower Moscow there ...he has a history there.  When Trump won the presidency in 2016 the U.S. media showed elated Russian citizens in bars and restaurants all over Moscow jumping up and down cheering like their team had just won the Super Bowl or the World Cup.  What does this tell you?  Why always pro Putin regarding things like Montenegro ...pulling U.S. troops from Syria?

Hopefully, our “investigators” will keep investigating and come to some definitive conclusions regarding our president, our free society, our country, our friends and enemies, and our history.  Hopefully, Robert Mueller has his shoulder to the wheel and employs a dogged tenacity to get to the truth.  I hope he doesn’t throw in the towel and this all ends up like the Warren Commission Report regarding the assassination of President Kennedy, still controversial and unsettled to this day.

See what I mean about whoever writes history owns it?

The media plays an important role in all this, probably the most important role.  You wouldn’t be reading this, being influenced by this “knowledge” I am translating had I not read the story in the NY Times and seen the reports on television news.  So, they, the media, and we, the mediocre, are the draft writers of our living history.  Professional historians will follow us and edit our history sealing the lid on our coffin, so to speak, and time will be left to do its work through the ages.  But there will always be true uncertainty ...

...and where is Jimmy Hoffa?  We should be careful not to let the overzealous broadcast media write our history for us.  Their only objective is ratings.

Regarding Trump being a Russian spy, my personal opinion is that it is totally possible that he may have been or is being unwittingly manipulated by Putin’s crew, however, its unlikely he is or was smart enough to take part in any covert activity involving planning or strategy, or math.  Putin has something over him, it may be the "pee tape".

I have been calling, trying to brand, Donald Trump as ‘President Goldfinger‘ for some time now and it’s starting to catch on.  I’m hearing it in the media more and on the street as well.  I hope this continues because Russian spy or no Russian spy I believe he is as much a villain as the Auric Goldfinger character in both metaphor and physical appearance, and he is not representing the America I know and have known, and, excuse the over-used, emotional expression, the home I love.  So, yes, he is a double agent of sorts at odds with his own “loves only gold”, narcissistic, megalomaniac personality, obsessed with his own power, and, regarding America’s current 'in harms way' situation, and in my own opinion, his abuse of power and the office of president.
