September 17 marks 229 years since the signing of the U.S. Constitution. Though it isn’t an official holiday, many citizens, including many throughout Utah, celebrate for several days often known as Constitution Week. This year several organizations in Northern Utah are planning events that are open to the public. Here are a couple to take special note of.

David Burton to Speak at Layton Christian Academy

Davis Burton is an evangelical and political leader and author. He is the founder of WallBuilders, a Texas organization that works to support and strengthen pro-family laws and ideas with a special focus on the Constitution and other founding documents.

Burton is the keynotes speaker for the Constitution Day Committee of Utah celebration. It will be held on Sept 17 at Layton Christian Academy. For tickets or more information visit www.cdutah.com.

Free Concert Featuring Bob Moses

Several organizations, including Weber County, Ogden City, United Way and Weber State University, are sponsoring a free concert as part of Constitution Week celebrations.

In an effort to bring awareness to voters for the need to get out and vote this November, particularly younger voters between the ages of 18 and 24, Bob Moses will perform Sept 16 while several volunteers provide information and forms to register to vote. The concert starts at 7pm at the Ogden Amphitheater.
