Midnight Divide

Announce New EP

Weapons Grade Amnesia

Due Out October 2019

Release New Single

"Who Do You Think That You Are"

Los Angeles, CA - July 19, 2019 - LA-based trio, Midnight Divide, have announced the release of their third EP, Weapons Grade Amnesia, for this October. Last week, the band released the first single off of the forthcoming EP, entitled, "Who Do You Think That You Are?" which premiered on Buzzbands LA, and is now available across all streaming services including Spotify and Apple Music.

On the track, lead vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist, Austen Moret shares, "Of anything we've done to date, this new record has felt like the most unadulterated version of what we want to sound like," Moret says. "It's this blend of all our favorite real rock elements (live drums, bass, guitars, etc.), but it's got this shiny, synthy, almost pop-like sheen over it. ... it feels like we've pulled off the mask on who we are ... and it feels really damn good."

Crafted in that space between days, Midnight Divide is a cinematic alt-rock group with a magnetically fierce sound that's been electrifying audiences since late 2015. Based in Los Angeles, the band is comprised of Austen Moret (vocals/guitar/keys), Jace McPartland (bass), Dan Beltran (lead guitar) and Bryan King (drums).

The band's debut EP Embrace The Wave was released in 2015, charting on the CMJ 200 as high as #149. The follow up EP Dichotomy dropped in 2017, and subsequently caught the ears of major music supervisors, leading to placements and TV syncs of "Torn" and "Animal Eyes" on TNT's Animal Kingdom. "Fireline," the lead single off of Dichotomy was placed on season 9 of the critically acclaimed Showtime series Shameless, with the band's 2018 single "Let It Be Known" featured on the same show in early 2019.

The band is produced and mixed by front man Austen Moret at his Hollywood studio, Silverside Recording. Their 3rd EP, Weapons Grade Amnesia, is set to release in early October of 2019. For more information, please visit https://midnightdivide.com/.

Sutherland Institute announces 2019 Congressional Series will begin with Rep. Chris Stewart

SALT LAKE CITY—Today Rick B. Larsen, president and CEO of Sutherland Institute, announced the organization’s 2019 Congressional Series, presented by Zions Bank. The Series will begin with Rep. Chris Stewart discussing free enterprise and socialism. Event details are listed below.

The event is open to the public with advance ticket registration and will be streamed live on Sutherland’s Facebook page. It is also open to media who RSVP in advance to kelsey@sifreedom.org.

Following Stewart’s remarks, a panel will discuss the concepts of free enterprise and socialism and which direction America is headed. Panelists include Romina Boccia, director for the Grover M. Hermann Center for the Federal Budget at The Heritage Foundation; Utah House of Representatives Minority Leader Brian King; and Natalie Gochnour, associate dean of the David Eccles School of Business and director of the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute. More details can be found here.

“Socialism is a folly,” Stewart said. “Not only is it doomed to fail whenever it rears its head, it leaves a wake of destruction in lives and freedoms lost. …So much time has passed from the fall of the Iron Curtain that many have internalized – or never experienced – socialism’s ultimate price. If we fail to recall those dangerous times, the primitive appeal of socialism will advance and infect our institutions.”

“Sutherland’s Congressional Series offers insight into the priorities, focus, and areas of expertise of those we elect to serve,” Larsen said. “This deeper dive into policy is only possible in a format that allows for in-depth exploration.

“Unlike town halls or debates, this series allows for real conversation around key issues and concerns like socialism’s growing popularity. Through keynote addresses from our elected officials followed by panel discussions with policy experts, Utahns are able to gain a greater understanding of critical issues and proposed solutions. We look forward to hearing from Congressman Stewart on July 30.”
