Orion Junior High School

A message from Orion Junior High School principal, Chris Earnest: “Our school goal this year is for every student to be prepared for the next level of learning.  To help us reach this goal, we are using our late start mornings (every Monday) in the following ways”:

*Improve Common Assessments

*Identify grade level weaknesses and address them

*Implement a school wide improvement plan that is based on our goals and weaknesses

*Identify struggling students and implement intervention plans

*Continue to improve our teaching practices

From just a week ago, Earnest says, “I was reminded repeatedly why I love my job.  As I greeted our students with, “Good morning, how is your day going?” and “Have a great day!” the students responded back with “Hellos” and “How is your day”, “Have a good day” and “Thank you.”

I love how they respond and interact with me. I am amazed at how many students thank their bus drivers as they get off the bus.  We have the best students in the district at Orion, and you as parents have taught them well!  They are a wonderful reflection of you and the morals and values you are teaching them.  Thank you!”
