Wednesday, March 6, 2019 - 12:30pm

WILLARD/PERRY KINDERGARTEN ROUND-UP - Children who will be five years of age BEFORE Sept. 1, 2019 are about to start a wonderful, exciting adventure. At this time Willard Elementary is trying to locate incoming kindergarten students in the Willard/Perry communities. If you have a child eligible for kindergarten, please contact the school by calling 435-734-4934, or you could just stop by the school at 40 W 50 S in Willard.

BATTER UP!!! – YOUTH BASEBALL Spring is right around the corner and it’s time for Youth Baseball. We have already had a number of inquiries. Sign up forms are included with this month’s newsletter and additional forms can be printed off the city website. Sign-up sheets can be mailed with a check or money order to the City Office or delivered with payment to the City Office. At this time we do not take debit or credit cards. Deadline for signing up is March 31, 2019.

4th of July volunteers needed - It’s hard to believe it is time to start planning for the 4th of July. This has been a long standing celebration for the community and residents past and present. If you would like to be part of making planning this year’s celebration please contact the City Office at 435-734-9881 or by email at willardcity@comcast.net to volunteer for the committee

CERT Training: New Location. This year’s CERT Classes will be held at Perry City Offices- It’s never too early to plan for emergencies, but it is all too often too late. CERT Classes are scheduled to begin in March. This will be the full training. The dates for classes are March 14, 16, 21, 23, 28 and 30.  Weekday classes are from 6:00 pm -9:00 pm and Saturday classes are from 8:00 am –1:00 pm. This is great information to help your family become prepared when an emergency hits.  An emergency can be as little as the power being out for more than a couple of hours or the water turned off because of a line break to a major disaster such as an earthquake.  Are you prepared??? Contact Sue Anderson at 435-723-8903 to sign up or if you have any questions. Sign-up sheets are also available at City Hall.

This year on May 10, 2019 marks the 150th anniversary of the driving of the Golden Spike uniting the East and West with the transcontinental railroad. Each year there is a reenactment of the driving of the Golden Spike. This year will be a celebration to remember! Tickets and lists of many activities scheduled all over Utah can be found at www.spike150.org . Check it out!!!
