This year Harrisville City will send a ballot to every registered voter in the city limits to their mailboxes. Ballots will come at least 2 weeks before election day which is August 13th, 2019. Ballots may be returned by mail or dropped off at any of these convenient locations: the Harrisville City Offices, any Weber County Library (except the Ogden Valley Branch).
If you choose to do early voting you may do so beginning August 7th and ending August 12th. Of course, you can look forward to your “I voted” sticker when you vote and proudly show the community you did your part to express your opinion.

Austin Moffitt-Running for four-year seat
Moffitt has lived in Harrisville most of her life. She and her husband have six children. She also teaches 5th grade and was previously the manager of a clothing store for 15 years. Moffitt’s personal goal is to “motivate others to see that they can make a difference in their community.”
Moffitt has felt she has demonstrated this ability by coaching softball, leading a Girl Scout Troop, running the Harrisville City Youth Council and helping with Harrisville Heritage Days. Moffitt welcomes any questions at Austin.tracy@hotmail.com
Richard Hendrix-Running for a four-year seat
Hendrix has lived in Harrisville for 38 years. He has 4 children and 14 grandchildren. Previously, Hendrix served on the city council for 6 years and was also Mayor of Harrisville for 8 years. Currently, he serves on the North View Fire District board of Trustees. Hendrix says, “I find that I miss being involved in the city government and would like the opportunity to serve the great people of Harrisville once again.
Heidi Wahlen-Running for a four-year seat
Wahlen has been an active member of Harrisville City for over seven years and she would like to work hard to balance tradtional values with future development. As a single mother of three, Heidi received her Bachelor’s degree in English through Weber State University in 2011. As she began teaching English at Highland Junior High, she met and married Russ Wahlen who is a long-time resident of Harrisville. Heidi is currently working towards her Master of Arts in English at WSU. Heidi feels she will be an asset to the city council because of her experience in banking, home mortgages, helping with her husband’s business.

Brenda Nelson-Running for four-year seat
Nelson says, “I am elated about the possibility of serving on the Harrisville City Council.” Having lived here in Harrisville for over 14 years means Nelson has had the opportunity to serve on the Planning Commission for several years. This experience has given Nelson a great deal of knowledge about the singular differences and challenges Harrisville City faces. This has given Nelson passion to want to do more and stay involved with her city. Nelson has been a Real Estate Broker for 22 years and has come to understand the important roles of small businesses in economy. Nelson says, “I will hold to the highest level of commitment to represent the people of Harrisville.”
Kevin Shakespeare-Running for a four-year seat
Shakespeare grew up in Bountiful, Utah and moved here to Harrisville City just three years ago in 2016. In his short time here, Shakespeare says, “I have fallen in love with his community and would love the opportunity to serve its wonderful people.” Having worked in security, professional sales and management positions for much of his life means Shakespeare feels he has the ability to communicate well with others. Additionally, he feels competent to make big decisions.
