Have you ever wanted to meet the President of the Church of Jesus Christ Have you ever wanted to meet the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints?  I know I have! Although, I may not have had an opportunity to shake Russell M. Nelson’s hand or meet him face to face, I feel as though I have since reading the book, Insights From a Prophet’s Life.  This book was written by Sheri Dew, who was a former counselor in the General Relief Society Presidency as well as a good friend of President Nelson’s.

As you begin reading this wonderful book you’ll immediately be drawn into the smooth flow of writing that Sheri Dew takes on.  She is a masterful writer who allows the reader to feel fully engaged upon every page.  This book is broken up into 4 parts with several short chapters throughout and plenty of real-life pictures.

We first learn about Russell M. Nelson as a child who grew up alongside his sisters and brother, Marjory, Enid and Robert in a happy home life.  They did not live in a gospel-centered home, but they did have loving parents, Marion Clavar Nelson and Floss Edna Anderson Nelson.

President Nelson thrived in school and grew to become a doctor; a heart surgeon.  His skills and expertise later lend a hand in China as he made several long-time friends there as well as colleagues.

“He was a genius,” according to Elder Gregory A. Schwitzer, a member of the Quorum of the Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and also a fellow doctor, about his thoughts on President Nelson.of Latter-Day Saints?  I know I have!
