One can hardly imagine a more mismatched trio than stern Marilla Cuthbert, quiet Matthew Cuthbert and chatty, imaginative and earnest Anne Shirley. Through a twisting turn of events, life threw these mismatched souls together and invites us to come along for the ride to the Cuthbert's farm: Green Gables. Anne, an orphan, is mistakenly sent to the Cuthberts. Upon her arrival the shy Matthew has to choose: take home the wrong child, or leave her stranded. Feeling he hasn't really a choice at all, he takes her along, and so their journey to become a family begins. Perplexed, then charmed by her odd nature, it doesn't take long for Anne to win their hearts and find her home in Green Gables.
