“It’s an EMERGENCY!  Quick--Call 911!”  Even though none of us ever want to face a crisis situation, the reality is:  it happens.  And when it does we want someone there FAST! Someone who’s capable and skilled.   

The newly finished Pleasant View Fire Station is here to meet those challenges.  Located at 370 W. 4300 N., Pleasant View City, it is situated high in the community to enable a prompter response time.

This year Utah is experiencing an unusually large number of human-caused wildfires. Fire managers note that although most wildfires are unintentional, they are also preventable.  Three of the main causes of wildfire are: debris burning, vehicles and campfires.

·         June 22nd with PICKLEBALL MASH ROUND ROBIN FORMAT- Competition Division, Skill level 3.5-4.0 Begins 6 p.m.- at the P.V. City Pickleball courts.

·         June 23rd: Free Family Fun-Movie in the Park! **Minnions** Beginning at dusk at P.V. City Park 901 W. Pleasant View Dr.  Bring chairs and blankets

·         June 24th Community Breakfast from 7:30 a.m.-9:00 a.m. held at the 900 West “Red Church” bowery

·         P.V. 5k run and 1 mile walk

Citizen Scientists Needed for Firefly Watch

Wednesday, June 14, 2017, Salt Lake City — Spotting fireflies in Utah is still a rare treat, but more and more residents are answering the call of local scientists searching for firefly habitats. It all started in 2013, when Christy Bills, Entomology Collections Manager at the Natural History Museum of Utah, teamed up with Seth Bybee, an evolutionary biologist at Brigham Young University to create a Citizen Science project enlisting Utahn’s to help them track firefly populations.
